GitHub Agent Sessions in Issues & Projects v2026.04
GitHub now lets you view and manage cloud agent sessions directly from issues and projects. Session pills, side panels, and default-enabled project views give you better visibility into agent activity without leaving your workflow.

- Session pill on issues — Header pill displays all active and completed agent sessions, giving instant visibility into agent activity.
- Session side panel on issues — Click any session to open it in the sidebar and view progress, review logs, or steer the agent without navigating away.
- Agent sessions enabled by default in projects — "Show agent sessions" is now on by default for new and existing project views; no configuration needed.
- Session side panel in projects — Click agent sessions directly from your project board to open details in the sidebar, check progress, or provide guidance.
- Smarter label suggestions — Label picker now surfaces your most frequently used labels at the top for faster application without searching.
